This game really wants you to beat it. As long as you behave yourself, and make the shots you are supposed to, the game might throw you a extra ball or two. However, to Attack Mars, you need to gets some Flawless Victories to get all of those saucer lights. Get some lights, and the game might help with with you get more of those as well.
In a tournament environment, the game does break down to, “Lock balls, get Multiball, it’s safer.” Which is why you don’t see this game much in major tournaments. At least it’s better than Star Wars.
