skillshot

Few games can make a player appreciate a skill shot more than Fireball (electro-mechanical edition). Tournaments can be decided on whether you have been able to find out how much you should pull that plunger back to score those big points and cause all of the bumpers to illuminate.

If you see that you are going to play a game like Fireball in competition, a game when the skill shot can be the deciding factor, do whatever you have to do (spy, bribe, beg, take a picture of yourself plunging it) to learn and remember where the skill shot is on the plunge.

Remember when skill shots were like this? If you don’t, then play more classic games. Most modern games allow you to move the skill shot award which takes some skill out of it. It’s why I appreciate it when a modern game sneaks in a ‘hands-free’ skill shot award in the rules.
