Pictured are my scores on Stern Pinball’s Fallout at Media Day. If you are looking for pictures and videos, you probably have already seen them from other sources before you arrived here. If not, they won’t be hard to find. I’ll put some at the bottom of the post on my website and on the Facebook group as I find them.

Firstly, for the 700+ Million score, which was done on the Premium edition, I learned how to use the power armor to turn on and off the boosted scoring. Timed activation of the power armor (+100% Playfield X) pays dividends with big cash-ins. But turning it on and off too often will drain the meter faster.
Decent performances in vault experiments increased my global scoring +20% and I started two Vault Multiballs. For Vault experiments in the lower playfield, think of Twilight Zone using that one magnet, but you are using it to try to hit targets and loop around a Bally Electra-like area. But you MUST control yourself and pulse the magnet patiently. Spamming the flipper WILL NOT work and will just freeze the ball.
Secondly, The 1.0 Billion score, which was also done on the Premium edition, earned me a high five from Keith Elwin at the end of it as he saw at least the back half of the game. My bonus barely tripped my score over the Billionaire mark, which I thought I had blown because I had used tilt warnings. Number of tilt warnings remaining is a factor in your bonus multiplier. Use one and you lose one. I also used the power armor more efficiently and was able to upgrade my weapon to increase playfield X percentage and bonus x.
One of the main modes in the game (“Wedding Day”) involves the main and lower playfields. This was an interesting challenge when I had three balls cradled on the right flipper while trying the pulse the lower playfield magnet with the left flipper. Again, patience is the key.
Global Playfield X was at +40% and Bonus X was at 9X at the end of this 1.0 Billion game. The Bonus X holds for the game UNLESS you use tilt warnings. Visiting the shop allowed me to purchase Power Armor Max Energy, relight kickback, decrease my radiation poisoning, and other “junk” like baseballs and ashtrays to increase my XP. Those give you more ways to attain better weapons and increase global scoring. You can also try to STEAL from the store if there is an item you REALLY want but can’t afford. However, if you get caught you risk losing ALL your CAPS (money), and the prices rise because your reputation decreases.
Finally, my last game of the day, the 1.3 Billion score was done on the Pro Edition. During this game I found an unintentional “ZERO Point” Super Jackpot during “Deathclaw Multiball 1” which was verified by the team (My Game Tester Extraordinaire skills strike again!). I was also able to loop jackpots of 88 Million each, a value built from a side quest(?) mode I was playing (plus using power armor during it). I collected about seven of those 88 Million point jackpots, using that very smooth, reverse (“mutated”) upper flipper loop shot that loops right to left. Yes the loop shot (Iron Maiden, Jurassic Park, Avengers Infinity Quest, Godzilla) is back again, but it’s better. You can drain from missing the loop on this game as well. However, it’s a different way out to the right outlane that you have a decent chance to fight back against. I completed 4 Vaults bringing my global scoring to +60% buy the end of the game. My power armor usage was even better during high scoring spots in the game.
Becoming more S.P.E.C.I.A.L. by increasing seven attributes (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, Luck) also gives important perks during play like increased ball save time, better outlane saves, increased ability to shop (and steal) and more. These abilities can be stacked. For instance you could unlock the ability to light the outlane save or upgrade to an outlane save you can change with the flippers or unlock the ability to use both outlane saves. On my 1.3 Billion game I was (Level 1) S.P.E.C.I.A.L. on 5 out of 7 attributes. I thought about upgrading one attribute to level 2, but I wanted to try for the wizard mode that you reach when you get all S.P.E.C.I.A.L qualities at least once.
Potential drawbacks:
(1) From what I understood when I was playing, buying certain combinations of items from the store over the course of the game helped me craft the upgraded weapons. If that is the case, then The Player will need to have an encyclopedic knowledge of the items needed to build weapons to increase scoring percentages and bonus X (unless that will be included in the status report in the future). That can be frustrating to Players who don’t want to remember things and just want to have fun playing.
(2) If you are buying the game for the home, you MUST have the premium (or LE) edition. The Pro loses the lower playfield, and has a static vault door instead of one that opens and closes. Also gone is The FatMan (BIG FREAKIN’ CANNON GUN!), and the upper playfield the FatMan gun fires balls across to hit targets. Of course, The Pro does not have any inserts where the lower playfield would have been, so it looks empty. Thank goodness the Pro at least has the Pip Boy as you really couldn’t do a Fallout game without the signature gadget, and the game needs what the mini screen adds to the experience. If you are buying a Pro Edition for on-route play, you might end up wanting to upgrade to the Premium anyway as FOMO increases. The Pro was a fun experience and would have been fine on it’s own. However, the Premium and LE versions do exist, and as such, they provide a more complete version of a Fallout pinball experience.
Overall, Keith Elwin and the Team have done it again! If I had the bottle caps for it, my wallet would be out of a Premium Edition. Fortunately, The Pinball Capital will be getting a Limited Edition soon to join their 130+ other pinball machines. Thank goodness I can put my capless wallet back in my pocket and play it there, where it will likely be available in the Grand Champion Lounge.
