Parody Card: Arcade Panhandler

Creature – Human

Each turn roll 1d6. If the result is even, perform one of these attacks:

2: Hover – Find anyone playing a game and stand uncomfortably close to them.
4: Eavesdrop – Listen for people who have change jingling in their pocket.
6: Beg – Interrupt  a player minding their own business by asking for a quarter. If they give it to you, do 25 damage and return in 5 minutes for more potential hovering.

Likes: People with quarters
Weakness: Other panhandlers, Arcade staff
Reward: Undisturbed Play
Penalty: More Panhandlers, chance of theft

Have you ever encountered one of these specimen? If you have spent a decent amount of time in an arcade, or a bar, or a bar with an arcade in it, I’ll bet that you have. Probably not so much recently though, since many arcades, amusement places and Family Entertainment centers have converted to touchless currency where coin slots remain unused.

I believe this card goes back to 2012 although my latest edited date for the original card says 2015. Maybe 2012, because I made a post back then (“Dude, do you have fifty cents I can borrow?”). It was about an encounter I had at an arcade, after I had already created the card and the one you’ll see in an upcoming post.
