Presented for your perpetual frustration is the infamous, the notorious, the diabolical Volley by Gottlieb (1976). Welcome to the competition where dreams of quick cash go to die, it’s $5.00 Volley! To begin, everyone who wants to enter give a $5.00 entry fee. For this you receive one ball of Volley. ONE. So you better make it a good one. If you know Volley, then you know if you do not get one of the top lanes on your plunge, your ball is basically forfeit until you make that ball climb back up to the top and get one of those lanes.

Volley lies to you. By that I mean a plunge strength that gets a top lane in one case may not result in a top lane for the very same plunge strength. Even though you would swear that you plunged it the same way that earned you a middle top lane before, the next time the ball might bounce completely out of any lanes. Now, they panic sets it because this is ONE BALL of Volley.

After every brave (crazy) Player has their one ball, we go to the second and final round where we raise the stakes dramatically. The Player with the current highest score is sitting in the catbird seat with the advantage. Everyone else who played in the first round can choose to try ONE more ball of Volley to beat the highest score, but this time it will cost you $20.00! Here is where the pot starts to grow dramatically. If The Player who had the highest score after round one gets passed, THEN they can choose to pay their $20.00 to get their ONE more ball. Highest score after the $20.00 round takes all the cash.
