Jeff Teolis interviews filmmaker Mike Miller. What’s a bubblehead?

Mike shares his love of pinball with @JeffTeolis including some tourney success and a video homage.

Flipped by Mike Miller:
Flipped

Do you remember what pinball used to be back in the day? How far back is “back in the day?” Well, as far back as you need it to be to feel the nostalgia that I felt while watching this film.

I remember going to the local flea market/video store/mini-mall area to find that one pinball game. A game that I hoped would work this particular time I tried to put money in it. If it did, well then I was pretty much set in my own little world for the next couple of hours, trying to get my initials to dominate the high score list.

I remember the pinball doldrums period, having to search for remote places that had one or maybe two games.

But, “here in the now,” games are showing up in random places again. While arcades have faltered, barcades are daring to take their place. Pinball communities are gaining popularity. There is a burgeoning home market. Videogame pinball is serious business.

We live in good times, and pinball will only get better as long as we continue to support it.
