New Pinball Dictionary: In Jail

In Jail

That feeling you get when you have the ball trapped on a flipper, but you have no idea what to do next; Especially when flipper techniques such as  post passes and tap passes aren’t working well enough to get the ball the the other flipper, reliably.

Almost nothing is lit. The shots you have left to take seem too dangerous or not worth the risk, so you don’t want to try them. You are relegated to reading the instruction card and looking around the playfield for any kind of visual aid that could help you get out of this situation.
