Thirty-two-year-old Jake Erskine of Portland does not consider himself a master of pinball, never mind that he placed second in the Maine State Championship series, boasts 869th out of 39,000 ranked players on the International Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA), and that, come March 17, he will battle it out with the best pinball players from 36 states and six Canadian provinces at the national championships in Las Vegas.
